Pacific Beacon
941 Single-Sailor Dual-Master Suite Apartments
The Department of the Navy and Clark Realty are working together to build this first-of-its-kind housing development for single, enlisted sailors in San Diego. When complete, the project’s four, 18-story buildings will serve as a striking addition to the San Diego skyline and house nearly 2,000 sailors in 941 dual-master suite residences. Due to a critical shortfall of affordable housing in the area, the Navy requires all junior enlisted sailors to live on the ship while in homeport. The Pacific Beacon project, an important component of the Navy’s Ship to Shore initiative, will give each sailor more than 200 times the amount of room than what was previously available in on-board accommodations. The spacious apartments boast energy-efficient, fully-equipped eat-in kitchens, convenient in-suite washers and dryers, light-filled living rooms, and balconies that embrace the near-perfect climate of the region. Clark Realty also designed Pacific Beacon with a vast array of community amenities including a rooftop Sky Terrace with pool and spa, three fitness centers, a Wi-Fi coffee bar, two rooftop penthouse game rooms, a multimedia theater, several lounges, a mini-mart, and a dry cleaning valet. Outdoor amenities take advantage of San Diego’s ideal weather, including an athletic field, a running path, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, BBQ areas, and an outdoor Courtyard Living Room.
