Clark Realty Wins Best in American Living Award for Third Consecutive Year
ORLANDO, Fla. — In an awards ceremony at Sea World Orlando, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) along with Professional Builders Magazine honored Clark Realty with a Best in American Living Award (BALA) for The Village of Camp Parks, which earned the Silver award for Best Suburban Smart Growth. The BALA awards recognize a variety of projects in 41 design-driven categories; and are considered the foremost residential design competition in the industry.

"The BALA award winners are judged on the developer's quality of land use," said Paul Deffenbauch, editorial director for Professional Builder Magazine. "We were impressed by Clark's thoughtful land planning and excellence in implementing Smart Growth principles."

Judge's rate projects on the developer's ability to implement Smart Growth concepts like providing multiple transportation options, maximizing infill opportunities, delivering a genuine experience of place, creating jobs and economic development, providing pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods, and respecting local traditions.

Clark Realty Capital, in conjunction with architect and land planner Torti Gallas and Partners, created a development plan that exemplifies these ideas. Residents experience a greater sense of community from the creation of a variety of attractive and spacious homes, pedestrian-friendly streetscapes, open green spaces, community gathering areas, sports facilities, and tot lots. Using Smart Growth principles in the redesign of the Village at Camp Parks has turned this Army installation into a vibrant, thriving community for military soldiers and their families.

The Village of Camp Parks is part of a public private partnership between Clark Realty Capital, the Department of the Army and Pinnacle to improve the post's aging housing stock. The installation is located in one of the nation's most expensive areas to live, Dublin, Calif., where the average new home price in surrounding areas reaches $1 million.
